Finished Basements

Starting is easy, but does require some leg work.  Just like in real estate - Budget, Budget, Budget.  Most people do this backwards.  They pick all of the latest design elements and completely freak out when they get their estimates.  Talk about popping the excitement balloon.  After that, you are left with settling for what you can afford.  Instead, find a number you can work with and don't make it a secret.  We can do remarkable things with a space when we start the design process with a budget.

Depending on the project you should expect a few uncertainties.  Otherwise, all other expectations should be clearly spelled out (as in on paper).  Projects such as face lifts (basic material swaps) should have little impact to your day-to-day with the exception of loss of the space for the duration.  Major renovations will cause a few more problems and inconveniences.  Again, easily managed providing they are outlined.  Most all of clients completely forget the journey and embrace the results.

The timeline really depends on how much work needs to be done.
